Professional boxer Makoto Kikuchi, who came out ahead of the Olympics, hopes to encourage more people to accept their identity. We spoke to transgender rights activist and former Japanese national team fencer Fumino Sugiyama who wants the IOC to modify its athlete eligibility policies so that they are more widely accepted going forward.
