Male friendship can be a powerful source of support for men. But in communities and cultures with increasingly toxic standards that forbid or punish men for getting emotional, being vulnerable, or bonding around anything other than a few acceptable subjects, fostering strong relationships can feel impossible for men who have not had strong, healthy male friendships modeled for them. Finding the tools and confidence to empower themselves to reach out and ask for help and offer deep listening to others only happens when men give themselves the space, freedom, and acceptance to talk about their limitations, desires, and love for each other.
