Joy

While happiness tends to be a momentary feeling of pleasant internal satisfaction or peace—or even a lack of any negative or unpleasant feeling—joy tends to refer to a deeper loving energy that spills outward. Joy finds delight in the world as it is and empowers us to share that delight and acceptance with those around us. Joy can be cultivated through genuine connection with others and the Divine and through compassion and lovingkindness practices that train our attention and energy outward.
