I’ve spent many hours trying to educate myself on racism, white privilege, and bigotry so that I may be able to uncover my own racist beliefs and prejudices.
There is no “one size fits all” language when it comes to talking about race.
The 1960s and ’70s stand as an era of artistic community — of collectives: musicians and writers, artists and architects, photographers and filmmakers listening, arguing and creating with each other. Now they're rediscovering their power.
The first thing you want is to know that you belong here, that you are a part of this planet, just like the earth and the water, the sun and the wind, and the trees.
In the past few weeks, my journey took an unexpected path but one that has taught me so much and helped me grow. I learned a couple of key lessons.
