The transition from actively parenting children to a quieter life without children in the home can be difficult for any dedicated parent. For single parents, the transition may prove especially challenging.
There is a very particular loneliness that comes from being alone with a small child. A tang. A hum. A hollow. When it’s just you and your child, for hour after hour, you can start to feel very small and very far away.
